WebcamsWhat is a webcam? Webcams or web cameras are small video cameras which take images in real time, and make videos to upload them to a web server at regular intervals. It is often connected to a computer through USB, Wi-Fi or Ethernet. These images and videos can be shown on the instant messaging, World Wide Web, or a PC video conferencing application.  Webcams are most used in places that offer video links whose computers work as videoconference stations or videophones. They are also used as computer vision and security surveillance. They have become the most economical form of video telephony. Webcams are really useful, but they are sometimes a source of privacy and security problems, because a webcam can be activated using spyware.  Videoconferencing cameras are small cameras connected directly to a computer, and analog cameras are connected to a video capture card to be connected indirectly or directly to the Internet. A webcam usually includes an image sensor, a lens, and support electronics, and might also include a microphone. A little description about some important uses of webcams:
 Webcams allow the lowest cost for webcasting and real time video chat, allowing a lot of people do activities such as online dating. The most famous website is YouTube; it hosts a large number of videos made using webcams. Internet has news website such as BBC that broadcast live news videos. Many people use webcams to work from their home using Internet. Webcams are a good way to get information and learn important things, for example: there are videos about how to learn italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, among other languages made with a webcam. |
