What is a webcam? Webcams or web cameras are small video cameras which take images in real time, and make videos to upload them to a web server at regular intervals. It is often connected to a computer through USB, Wi-Fi or Ethernet. These images and videos can be shown on the instant messaging, World Wide Web, or a PC video conferencing application.
